Subjects subject to special tobacco consumption tax according to new regulations

The National Assembly has just officially passed the Law on Special Consumption Tax (amended), in which cigarettes are subject to a tax of 10,000 VND/package from 2031.

The Ministry of Health proposes an absolute tax of VND15,000/pack of cigarettes from 2030

According to the Ministry of Health, the absolute tax rate needs to increase by a starting point of VND 5,000/bag and reach VND 15,000/bag (20 cigarettes/bag) by 2030.
