Nam Co is a particularly disadvantaged commune, 60 km from the center of Mu Cang Chai district. This mountainous locality has many remote schools with difficult access, with nearly 3,000 ethnic minority students. In particular, the recent storm has significantly affected the children's studies.
Promoting the tradition of solidarity, "mutual love and support", sharing difficulties with people and students in flood-affected areas, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund has coordinated with volunteer organizations to give thousands of notebooks to 1,314 students of Vu A Dinh Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Ta Ghenh Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; giving desk lamps to Ly Tu Trong Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; and giving canned fish to Hoa Hong Kindergarten.
In addition, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund also donated essential items, floor cleaner, soap, incense, and thousands of uniforms to the above schools.
Also on October 9, Lao Dong Newspaper presented support gifts to the People's Committee of Nam Co Commune to transfer to 30 households in Lung Cung Village who were severely affected by the recent floods (currently still without electricity and phone signal).
Mr. Le Hai Dang - Principal of Ly Tu Trong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities - expressed: "On behalf of the schools receiving the support gifts, we sincerely thank the sentiments of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Lao Dong Newspaper for the remote commune of Nam Co. We look forward to and hope that in the future we will continue to receive the attention of the Newspaper so that teachers and students of Nam Co commune can have better conditions for studying and living".
“In the context that the education sector in mountainous areas is still facing many difficulties, the support of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Lao Dong Newspaper is not only a material sharing but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for students, as well as teachers", Mr. Nguyen Anh Thuy - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Mu Cang Chai district - shared more.
