On the morning of November 28, representatives of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund were present in Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa to provide emergency support to workers and people who suffered heavy losses after the historic flood.

motivation for workers and laborers to rise up after the flood

The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund has donated a total of 450 million VND to workers and people. In Dak Lak alone, the support amount is up to 250 million VND, focusing on areas with many workers affected.

At Hoa Hiep Industrial Park (Dong Hoa Ward, Dak Lak), the Fund presented 50 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to union members and employees of Truong Thanh Wood Joint Stock Company. This is one of the enterprises with the largest number of workers affected by the flood.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa - Chairman of Dong Hoa Ward Trade Union - said: "The ward Trade Union is managing 72 grassroots trade unions with about 6,600 union members. During the recent flood, up to 4,300 union members suffered heavy losses. Truong Thanh Wood Joint Stock Company alone has up to 250 workers affected by natural disasters, many cases of lost property, and extremely difficult circumstances."

According to Mr. Hoa, about 3,200 people working in the industrial park suffered property damage, causing the production activities of enterprises to only maintain about 50% of their capacity.

Amid those losses, the story of Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut, a worker at Truong Thanh Wood Company, moved many people. The couple's level 4 house sank in just a few hours. The spotter farm - the source of additional income that the two had saved for a long time - was completely swept away. When receiving support from the Golden Heart Social Support Fund, Ms. Ut sent her thanks on behalf of the workers who received the gifts: "This is a meaningful gift that helps us workers overcome the most difficult period, and have more confidence to return to work."

On the same day, representatives of the Golden Heart Social Support Fund continued to give an additional 200 million VND to workers and people in areas heavily affected by floods in Dak Lak.

Spreading affection to flooded areas of Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong

In Khanh Hoa, the Fund representative continued to donate 100 million VND to Tay Nha Trang ward and Dien Dien commune - two localities that recorded heavy damage due to prolonged deep flooding.

Mr. Bui Trung Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Dien Dien Commune - said that the whole commune had 9,757 households/37,498 people flooded. 100% of households are affected. The flood in just one night has exhausted the lives of thousands of households.

Receiving support of 50 million VND, Mr. Dung was moved: "The recent flood caused many households in the commune to be deeply flooded, and the lives of the people were severely affected. The timely support of the Fund not only helps localities have more resources to overcome the consequences, but also is a great encouragement for people in the most difficult times. We appreciate the affection that the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund has for the people of Dien Dien.

In addition to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa, during the day, the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund also presented 100 million VND to support localities in Lam Dong that were heavily affected by floods.

On behalf of the Fund, Mr. Phan Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Lao Dong Newspaper in the Central Highlands - shared: "The floodwaters have receded but workers are still struggling to bear immeasurable losses. The amount of support today is the heart and sharing that the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund sent to each union member during the most difficult times. We hope this support will give more motivation for everyone to soon stabilize their lives".

The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund supports people in Gia Lai province to overcome the consequences of storms and floods

On November 28, in Quy Nhon Bac ward (Gia Lai province), the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund donated 50 million VND to support local people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Representatives of the Golden Heart Social Support Fund have presented 10 million VND in support to 2 people in difficult circumstances and suffering heavy damage after the two recent historic storms and floods: Ms. Duong Thi Bo (80 years old) and Mr. Pham Ngoc Hieu (38 years old), both residing in Quarter 3. At the same time, the Fund presented 15 gifts, each worth 2 million VND, to 15 households severely affected by storm No. 13 and the historic flood.

On this occasion, the Golden Heart Social Support Fund also presented support to Tuy Phuoc Tay commune and Tuy Phuoc commune - 2 localities that suffered a lot of damage during the double natural disaster - each unit with 50 million VND to overcome the consequences.

In an abandoned house because all his belongings were swept away by floodwaters, Mr. Vo Van Chat (74 years old, residing in Quarter 3) is still shocked when recalling the days of running away from the flood to protect his network. His dry hands are still swollen and painful because the roof collapsed in storm No. 13. After his wife passed away, Mr. Chat lived alone in a small house. No one of his children lives nearby, so he has to take care of all his activities and food. "Receiving 2 million VND at this time is very valuable, thank you very much. I have spent this money to buy some rice and some medicine because my hands are swollen and I have been in pain for several days now," Mr. Chat said.

Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Hoa - Secretary of the Party Committee of Quy Nhon Bac Ward - said that storm No. 13 and the historic flood caused severe damage to most local people, with 15/16 neighborhoods inundated during the flood alone. To date, the ward has recorded 3 deaths, all of whom were elderly people and pre- ill people.

"From November 20 to now, the ward has received a lot of support from benefactors, from meals, bread to bottles of water to help people overcome difficult days. Today, the Golden Heart Social Support Fund continues to support truly difficult cases, helping people recover after natural disasters. I hope people will soon overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives," said Ms. Hoa. Hoai Phuong
