The low pressure is 1 of 3 weather patterns that will cause localized rain across the Philippines.

The latest storm and low pressure news on the morning of May 24 from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that 3 weather patterns, including a low pressure trough of the low pressure area, will continue to cause localized rain across the Philippines on May 24.

The report said that the low pressure is 560km east of General Santos city, inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). This low pressure is not forecast to strengthen into a tropical depression but will cause scattered rain and thunderstorms in Mindanao, Palawan, Eastern Samar and Southern Leyte islands.

According to PAGASA, another low pressure area, detected 2,195km southeast of Mindanao, is being monitored outside PAR and is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

Easterly winds will continue to affect Luzon and Visayas, causing showers or localized thunderstorms, especially in the Bicol region, Quezon province and some areas of Visayas.

Metro Manila area and other places in the Philippines, the weather forecast for May 24 is cloudy to partially cloudy, accompanied by showers or localized thunderstorms due to localized heat thunderstorms.

PAGASA weather forecasters noted that 39 areas are forecast to record dangerous temperatures (42-51 degrees C), including Dagupan city (Pangasinan); San Ildefonso (Bulacan); San Jose Occidental (Mindoro). Sangley Point in Cavite city, Cavite province, the highest temperature index may reach 46 degrees C.

Across the Philippines, light to moderate winds and light to moderate rough seas.
