The latest storm and low pressure information on September 20 from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the new low pressure is expected to appear during the week from September 19 to September 25 and continue to move near the East Sea during the week from September 26 to October 2.
The new low pressure is expected to form at the eastern boundary of PAGASA's TCAD forecast area and is unlikely to strengthen.
However, in the week from September 26 to October 2, a new low pressure will enter the Philippine Forecast Area (PAR), approaching Northern Luzon, Philippines.

During this time, PAGASA is monitoring 2 active storms in the East Sea. During the week from September 19 to September 25, Typhoon Mitag (called Mirasol in the Philippines) and Typhoon Ragasa (called Nando in the Philippines) will operate in the area.
While Typhoon No. 8 Mitag made landfall in China, Typhoon Ragasa continued to strengthen within the Philippine Forecast Area (PAR) and towards the Luzon Strait. Many forecast models predict that Ragasa is likely to strengthen into a super typhoon.
During the week of September 26 to October 2, Typhoon Ragasa is forecast to enter the East Sea, leave PAR and head straight to the southeastern part of China and Vietnam, according to Philippine weather forecasters.
