MH370 expert questions about the moment the plane went missing

Thanh Hà |

MH370 investigators share new theories about the last moments and why the plane stopped operating at the last moments.

The premise about the last moment of flight MH370 was given by Australian investigator Sergio Cavaiuolo. He said witnesses may have seen a fire from a missing flight in March 2014 while carrying 239 people. The Boeing 777 disappeared while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

Mr. Cavaiuolo believes that the plane's sudden reversal after 40 minutes of flight shows serious technical problems.

"It is clear that the plane suddenly turned around after 40 minutes to fly towards Malaysia. Many pilots also said that this shows that there was a problem with the plane," he told GB News.

This MH370 expert pointed out that eyewitness accounts in the East Sea said they saw the fire coming from a plane. "That suggests that there was an emergency problem with the plane," Cavaiuolo said.

The Australian expert's hypothesis is that the fire may have damaged the aircraft's ground, making it difficult for the aircraft to land or unable to land.

Mr. Cavaiuolo also questioned whether this was a suicide why MH370 continued to fly until it ran out of fuel.

"If this was a suicide mission, why didn't you fly the plane somewhere and use a large fuel explosion that was still in the plane?" - he asked.

Mr. Cavaiuolo believes that the MH370 pilots have followed emergency procedures after the plane crashed.

"In an emergency, if there is an electrical problem, the pilot will turn off all the electrical short circuit and isolate the power to turn everything off, then start turning everything back on slowly to determine the location of the problem," he pointed out.

This aerospace engineer pointed out that this could explain MH370's disconnection of all connections when flying over Malaysia.

Mr. Cavaiuolo believes that finding the MH370 wreckage is important in understanding what happened. "If the wreckage is found, I think there will be a great chance to see the black box," he said.

MH370 experts added that despite the plane being underwater for nearly 11 years, they are still optimistic about data recovery. "The design of the aircraft's equipment is quite sturdy. They are sealed" - he noted.

The latest hypothesis about MH370 was shared when the Armada 7806 search ship of marine robotics company Ocean Infinity arrived at a new search area in the Indian Ocean, about 1,500 km from Perth, Australia, to search for MH370.
