The military attack by the US-UK-France joint venture on Syria on the morning of April 14 (Vietnam time) is causing mixed reactions from experts and international public opinion.

Are the reasons for the US attack on Syria convincing?

A few minutes ago, I ordered the US armed forces to specifically attack targets related to Bashar al-Assad's chemical weapons capabilities, Reuters quoted President Donald Trump as saying on television from the White House at 9pm on April 13, Washington time, 8am on April 14 - Hanoi time.

Mr. Trump affirmed that this attack campaign is aimed at " across-the-board blocking the production, spread and use of chemical weapons" for the goal of maintaining world peace.

The attack was coordinated with the French and British armed forces, with the common goal of opposing the Syrian government's use of chemical weapons to kill people.

Mr. Trump also affirmed that the attacks will continue until the Syrian government stops using chemical weapons.

To citate the reason for launching the attack, the White House said many sources indicated that the Syrian government used clo gas in the chemical attack in the town of Douma (a suburb of the Syrian capital Damascus).

The US affirmed that the US conclusion on the chemical attack in Syria was based on many sources from the media, images, videos and "credible information" and this action should be condemned.

NATO Secretary General supports US, UK and France in attacking Syria

Immediately after the US and the British and French alliances deployed missiles to attack Syria, in recent hours, a conflicting debate has broken out among experts and public opinion around the world.

Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization ( NATO) Jens Stoltenberg has spoken out in support of the US, UK and French attack on Syria's chemical weapons facilities.

He said the military action would help reduce the possibility of the Damascus government attacking Syrian people with chemical weapons.

US Secretary of Defense James Mattis said the US-Brits have taken "resolutely" action against chemical weapons facilities in Syria. He declared the attack a "one-time attack" but did not rule out the possibility of continuing the attack.

Syria criticizes US for violating international law

Meanwhile, immediately after the US attack, on the morning of April 14, Syria State Television - SANA - criticized the US-UK-France airstrike on the country as a "blatant violation of international law".

SANA said the above attack campaign "will fail" and could not support the "bad terrorist" in Syria.

Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Bashar Jaafari also warned that the country would not have any other choice but to defend itself if the US and Western countries took military action.

Russia's reaction to the US attack on Syria

According to Sputnik news agency, Vice Chairman of the Russian National Defense Duma Committee (lower house) Alexander Sherin declared the missile attack by the US and its allies on Syria an act of aggression, violating all international rules.

Sherin said US President Donald Trump was the second Adolf Putin.

In addition, Mr. Anatoly Antonov - Russian Ambassador to the US - also responded on Facebook about the airstrike in Syria.

He said that US action in Syria will certainly lead to many consequences.

The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Western countries of attacking the capital of a sovereign state that has been fighting terrorism for years.

Public opinion calls on the Donald Trump administration to be cautious

According to CNN, Chu Chu Schumer - leader of the US Senate minority Chu Chu Chu Schumer - warned the Trump administration to avoid dragging the US into "a bigger and deeper war in Syria".

"A precise and limited act of sanctions and hopefully could prevent Assad from completely reducing reasonable chemical attacks, but the government also needs to be careful not to be dragged into a larger and deeper war in Syria," Schumer said.

Mr. Chu Chu Chuumer also said that the Trump administration needs to be responsible for coming up with a strategy if it is deeply engaged in the war in Syria and needs to consult with the parliament before applying it.
