On September 12, Ural Airlines' Airbus A320 en route from the Black Sea resort city of Sochi to Omsk city in Siberia declared a mid-flight emergency and was transferred to an alternative airport in Novosibirsk - emergency services told Russian media.
However, the plane had to make an emergency landing in a field 180 km from Novosibirsk International Airport before it could reach Novosibirsk, RT reported.
The passenger told the media that they still did not fully understand how lucky they were to survive the accident.
Doing very well, guy is great. We take land more gently on the runway, said a man named Yury about the pilot on the Airbus A320 in distress.
The passengers noted that the crew had kept calm and kept everyone's spirit.
I am very grateful to the crew and the pilots who saved us. It was a miracle, a female passenger told local news agency Gorsite.
Its a good thing we didnt land in the water. It was so cold, Yury joked. Ubinsk region, where the plane landed, has many shallow and muddy lakes.
The flight was carrying 161 people, including 23 children and 6 crew members. The pilot of the flight was Sergey Belov.
Ural Airlines revealed that the hero who controlled the plane came from a pilot family. Belov's grandfather served in the Soviet army and was a masterpiece in long-range bombers.
Belov's father, Vladimir, is a civil pilot and was involved in an emergency in 1989. In that situation, the warning was wrong, but he acted bravely and was awarded a state-level medal. Later in his career, he trained young pilots for Ural Airlines.
According to Ural Airlines, Belov - 33 years old - is the youngest member of the airline. He dreamed of becoming a pilot since he was a child.
The cause of the September 12 emergency remains unclear, although some reports say the plane had a hydraulic problem.
Initial reports note that no passengers or crew were seriously injured. The authorities said the plane was still intact when it landed, there were no fires on the plane and everyone had safely evacuated the plane by emergency landing gear.
Many Telegram accounts have shared images from the scene showing the plane with a tense pumped escape route lying in a corn field.
Governors of Novosibirsk and Omsk are pledged to provide passengers with all the necessary assistance, including temporary accommodation and means of transportation. The Russian air agency has launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
Some media compared the plane crash to an emergency landing of another Ural Airlines flight in August 2019. The Airbus A321 crashed into a fleet of seaports as it took off from Moscow and had to land in a nearby corn field. All 233 people on board survived, although dozens were injured.
