The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense sending a delegation to attend Lima 2025 is a practical defense foreign affairs activity to effectively implement the Party and State's policy on building and developing Vietnam's defense industry in the direction of proactiveness, self-reliance, self-reliance, dual use and modernity.
Within the framework of the exhibition, the Vietnamese delegation attended the opening ceremony, visiting the indoor and outdoor display areas of many leading defense businesses and corporations in the world. The delegation also had meetings and contact with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and businesses of other countries.
At the meetings, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son expressed his gratitude to the Ministries of National Defense of countries, defense enterprises and corporations for sending delegations to attend and exhibit at the second Vietnam International Defense Exhibition (December 19-22, 2024). The Head of the Vietnamese delegation also hopes to continue to receive the attention, support and active participation of partners at exhibitions in the coming time.
This is the 17th Lima period since 1991, co-organized by the Malaysian Ministry of National Defense and the Global Conference & Exhibition Group (GEC) in Langkawi Island, Kedah State, with the aim of promoting innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises in the industry, in line with the trend of modern technology development.
The Newspaper reported that at the opening ceremony held at Langkawi International Airport on May 20, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and many members of the cabinet, including two Deputy Prime Ministers Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Fadillah Yusof and Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, directly witnessed the spectacular performance of Malaysia Royal Air Force aircraft.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that Lima is a symbol of Malaysia's commitment to national defense, regional peace and strategic cooperation, in the context of the world witnessing profound security shifts.
ima is not just a place to display weapons and military equipment. This is also a space to build partners, support the domestic defense industry and catch up with the trend of innovation for national and regional security - Prime Minister Anwar affirmed.
For his part, Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin said that Lima 2025 focuses on innovation and development of indigenous defense technology. Within the framework of the exhibition, a series of memorandums of understanding will be signed between Malaysia and international partners.
According to the organizers, this is the largest exhibition ever, attracting 860 exhibitors - including 426 international companies and 434 local companies - from 24 countries to participate in maritime and aerospace booths in both commercial and defense sectors on a total exhibition area of 16,000m2.
This year's exhibition is expected to attract about 40,000 visitors, traders and high-ranking delegates from ministries of defense and the military of other countries.
During the exhibition, many air and sea performances will take place with the participation of 57 airplanes and 39 naval ships of Malaysia and some countries. ima 2025 also has seminars, exchanges and signings of defense trade.
