The latest weather forecast from the National Meteorological Center said that temperatures are expected to drop significantly across China from March 25 to 29, helping to end the unusually hot weather across the country.
From March 16, central and eastern China will gradually warm up. By March 26, temperatures in eastern and southern China will surpass 25 degrees Celsius, with some areas in Hoang Hoai, Jiangxi and northern Jiangnan expected to reach record highs in March.
In the south of the Ha River, temperatures are forecast to peak above 30 degrees Celsius, with some locations in Jiangnan and southern China could reach 35 degrees Celsius.
On March 22, Beijing's Hai Dien district recorded the highest temperature in China, breaking Beijing's March temperature record when it had temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius for the first time this year since data began recording in 1959.
The overall warming trend reversed from March 25, with temperatures dropping by 8-12 degrees Celsius across China.
In the latest cold spell, temperatures in the eastern part of northwestern China, the western part of northern China, southern parts of Huanghai, Jiangxi and Jiangnan are forecast to drop to 14-16 degrees Celsius, with some areas possibly dropping by more than 20 degrees Celsius. In northern China, the highest daytime temperatures are expected to drop to 10-15 degrees Celsius.
China is forecast to see strong winds from 25 March to 29 March, with winds reaching level 4 to level 6 in most areas. Wind gusts are forecast to reach level 7 to level 9 in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions, while in Jilin province and northern China, winds are likely to reach level 10 to level 11.
