Kazakhstan plans to supply 1.2 million tons of oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline by 2025, Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliev informed.
“The planned annual transport volume through the Druzhba oil pipeline is about 10 million tons. This includes 1.2 million tons that we plan to pump towards Germany so that the oil can be processed at refineries," TASS quoted Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliev as saying.
Previously, it was reported that in 2024, operator Kaztransoil plans to transport up to 1.2 million tons of Kazakh oil to Germany through the oil pipeline system operated by Russian oil company Transneft. In 2023, the amount of oil that Kazakhstan delivers to Germany is 993,000 tons.
In March 2024, Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliev revealed that Kazakhstan received a request to increase oil supplies to Germany. Accordingly, German companies proposed to increase oil supply to Germany through the Druzhba oil pipeline to 2 million tons. Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy held consultations on this issue this year.
Druzhba is one of the longest oil pipelines in the world, coming into operation in 1964 and currently spanning a network of 5,500 km. This pipeline usually transports Russian Ural oil to refineries in Poland, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
