On November 2, nearly 60,000 people in the Zaporizhzhia region lost power after a Russian night airstrike, while two people were killed in the Odesa region, according to Ukrainian officials.
The attacks came as winter approached, forcing Kiev emergency forces to urgently restore power and control alternating power outages.
Zaporizhzhia region governor Ivan Fedorov said the explosions caused many buildings to collapse, 2 people were injured and thousands of households were without power. He said the technical teams will restore power as soon as the security situation allows. On Telegram, he posted photos showing the structures with facades and windows destroyed after the airstrike.
The Zaporizhzhia region is facing almost daily attacks by artillery, missiles and drones from Russia. Local authorities said that in just 24 hours, Russia launched about 800 attacks targeting 18 residential areas, killing 1 person and injuring 3 others.
In Odesa, the Ukrainian emergency service confirmed two people were killed in a Russian drone attack along the Black Sea coast. Meanwhile, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the death toll from the airstrike that burned down a store has risen to four, including two boys aged 11 and 14, according to the regional governor.
Moscow has not commented on the attacks. Both sides denied targeting civilians.
