Saudi Arabian Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal passed away on July 19 at the age of 36, two decades after falling into a coma, according to information released by the Imam Global Council.
Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, known as the " sleeping prince", was seriously injured in a serious car accident in 2005 while studying at a military school in England.
Prince Al Waleed was born in April 1990 and was only 15 years old at the time of the accident. The accident resulted in a serious traumatic brain injury and internal bleeding, leading to a complete coma.
The prince was then transferred to a medical facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Here, the Saudi Arabian royal was supported for life and continuous medical care for nearly 20 years.
During the province's coma, there were scenes recording small movements, such as finger movements, that brought hope to those who watched the province's condition. Despite being treated by American and Spanish experts, the prince never fully regained consciousness.
Prince Al Waleed is the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud and the nephew of King Abdulaziz, the founder and first king of Saudi Arabia.
Prince Al Waleed's father was determined to save his son's life and repeatedly refused to withdraw the plane to support his life. He emphasized that only the emperor could decide the time of his son's passing.
The funeral services of Prince Al Waleed were held on July 20 after the Asr prayers at the Imam Turkey bin Abdullah Church in Riyadh.
