Iran has no intention of continuing military operations against Israel, including drone strikes and large missiles over the weekend, said Iran's Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Bagheri. However, the Chief of Staff noted that Iran will react more strongly if Israel attacks Tehran in the future - RT reported.
On the night of April 13, Iran launched a "wide-scale" attack on the state of Israel, which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) estimated to include more than 300 kamikaze missiles and drones.
The attack in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on an Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria earlier this month, killed two elite generals and five Iranian officers. On April 14, explaining the attack, Major General Bagheri said that Israel had crossed the "red line" in an unforgivable and un retaliatory manner.
The top leader also said that Israel should be sanctioned. The response was taken by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and other armed forces, said Major General Bagheri.
The response has been completed and we have no intention of continuing. But if Israel takes any further action against Iran, the next response will be much more severe, the General Staff stressed.
According to Major General Bagheri, the Iranian military has targeted a "big information center" providing intelligence to Israel and the Nevatim air base, which welcomed US F-35 fighter jets to conduct airstrikes on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.
The general affirmed that although both bases were destroyed, Tehran did not attack residential centers.
Israel had previously said that 99% of Iran's drones and missiles were shot down, admitting only minor damage to one base.
Also on April 14, Iranian Defense Minister - Lieutenant General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani - warned that any country that helps Israel attack Iran will face serious consequences.
" Any country that opens airspace or land to Israel to attack Iran will receive our response," Ashtiani said.
The Iranian delegation to the United Nations also asked the US to "stand away" from the conflict between Iran and Israel. This is a bilateral issue, the delegation said in a statement on social network X.
According to the declaration, the Islamic Republic has the right to respond according to Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which gives all countries the right to self-defense. The statement also pointed to Israeli aggression targeting Iranian diplomatic facilities in Damascus.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military said it had shot down 99% of more than 300 drones and missiles launched by Tehran.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel successfully repelled the attack by Iranian drones and large-scale missiles.
Spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, assessed: 99% of threats to Israeli territory have been thwarted, praising the development as a very important strategic achievement, thanks to the IDFs technological advantage and the support of a strong alliance.
