Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran will not stop uranium enrichment despite any pressure from the US or its allies.
Speaking on television on November 1, Mr. Araghchi emphasized that the airstrikes between the US and Israel in June could not paralyze the nuclear program that Tehran claimed was purely for civilian purposes.
According to him, although some nuclear materials are still under the rubble, Iran's uranium enrichment technology is still preserved. We cannot stop enriching uranium, he asserted.
Araghchi said Iran remains ready to move towards an agreement with the US through indirect negotiations, but that could only happen if Washington stops imposing unfeasible and unacceptable conditions.
He also stressed that Iran's missile program was not within the negotiation scope, saying it was "unreasonable for a state to voluntarily surrender its weapons".
Oman-inoff US-Iran talks have been suspended after Israel launched a 12-day bombing campaign earlier this year. Meanwhile, the European Union and the UK reimposed sanctions on Iran last month, reversing the incentives that were lifted under the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA).
The US withdrew from the deal during President Donald Trump's first term. Iran later said it was no longer bound by the provisions of the JCPOA, which expired in October.
