According to The Times of Israel, Israeli fighter jets simultaneously attacked the city of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip on September 10.
The Israeli army discovered several tents believed to be Hamas camps near the Al-Mawasi humanitarian area in the city of Khan Younis.
The IDF said it used precision-guided munitions and smart weapons to minimize civilian casualties.
Local medical staff said at least four rockets hit the Al-Mawasi humanitarian area, burning about 20 tents and leaving craters up to 9 meters deep.
So far, the airstrike has claimed the lives of 40 people and left 60 others in critical condition, according to a local official.
These numbers are expected to continue to rise as many residents and rescue teams are still digging to find missing families in the rubble.
Hamas immediately announced that no troops were operating in the Al-Mawasi humanitarian area during the Israeli attack.
Hamas also completely denied the accusations of deploying troops in this area to fight against the IDF and disrupt public order for the Israeli people. Hamas said that Israel was blatantly lying.
Israel repeatedly attacked shelters to destroy Hamas without regard for the safety of civilians.
On August 10, about 100 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike at a school where many families were being evacuated and staying.
Shortly after, Israel carried out another attack on August 18 in the city of Deir Al-Balah, killing 19 people , including children.
