According to reports from local media in Sichuan, the province has seen a new round of thunderstorms since August 10. During this period, the local meteorological office in Sichuan issued a warning of orange rain for two consecutive days for the first time this year.

Tu Trung district of Noi Giang city in the middle of Da Giang river faces the flood peak at 4:00 p.m. on August 17. The Da Giang River has overflowed the local dyke, and more than half of the town of Guidezhen is flooded.
To cope, local authorities have evacuated more than 3,000 people, half of the local population. Currently, the road leading to Guidezhen is flooded and the town has become an island. It is predicted that when the water level continues to rise, 3/4 of the town may be flooded.
