Ukrainian authorities reported explosions in the capital Kiev, Kryvyi Rih in the south and Kharkiv in the northeast, and issued a state of emergency warning of airstrikes across the country.
This is the latest in a series of non-continuous strikes by Russia since October.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the explosions occurred in the city's central district. The Kiev Mayor said there were explosions in Desnyan district and confirmed the explosions in the northeastern Desnianskyi district and the western Holosiivskyi district. He called on people to take shelter, noting: "The attack on the capital is still ongoing."
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said on Telegram that the city had a power outage.
Kharkiv region governor Oleh Syniehubov said that power outages occurred after at least three Russian airstrikes on the city's critical infrastructure.
According to AP, attacks targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure are part of Russia's new strategy on the ground amid months of conflict.
