The Russian military is said to have used hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missiles to support this large-scale attack.
The attack lasted about 6 hours, causing Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to go through an unprecedented difficult time during the years of the conflict.
Dnipropetrovsk province head Sergey Lysak said that facilities affected by the sabotage included a factory, a fire station and a 5-storey apartment building, but there were no reports of casualties.
Notably, the city of Pavlohrad is known as a strategic center of Dnipropetrovsk province.
The situation seemed very chaotic when the attack occurred. The sound of UAVs flying in the sky mixed with the gunshots of Ukrainian air defense units caused the city of Pavlohrad to be immersed in the fierce sound and fire of the explosions.
A resident named Oleh shared that it was the worst night he had ever known. "No one could sleep. We were all in the suburbs. There was also a thunderstorm. We had both explosions and rain," said Mr. Oleh.
Moscow has not yet commented on the attack.
On the same day, Russian forces also targeted the Black Sea port of Odesa, burning a 9-storey apartment building. Although local rescue teams rescued five people in distress on the top floor, one of them later died.
Mayor Odesa Hennady Trukhanov said on Telegram that at least 20 UAVs had been towed, saying the area was frequently attacked by Russian airstrikes. "Civil infrastructure was damaged by the attack. A high-rise apartment building is on fire. Rescue forces are taking people out of the fire," said Mr. Trukhanov.
