AP reported that on November 27, Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
The move has raised concerns that Russia is planning to destroy Ukraine's power supply system before winter arrives.
“Attacks on energy facilities are taking place across Ukraine,” Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko wrote on Facebook, adding that emergency power cuts were being carried out across the country.
Several explosions were reported in Kiev, Kharkiv, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Lutsk and other cities in central and western Ukraine.
The head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration, Andrii Yermak, said in a Telegram post that Russia has stockpiled missiles to attack Ukraine's infrastructure and wage war against the country during the winter.
An attack occurred in the northern Volyn region. The regional military chief, Ivan Rudnytskyi, said the electricity supply there was limited.
