Donald Trump has stated that he does not want family members/children to serve in the upcoming U.S. administration.

Donald Trump made the statement on November 6 in an interview with Fox News, following his victory in the US 2024 presidential election over Democratic opponent Kamala Harris.

"I said, that's enough for my family. You know why? Too painful for my family, my family went through hell" - Trump said.

Trump has served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021 and is expected to serve as the 47th President of the United States from 2025.

His eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, were key advisers to him during his first term. The couple were often criticized for their roles. In 2022, just as Mr. Trump began his third run for the White House, Ivanka announced that she would be stepping away from politics to prioritize her children and family life.

"Although I will always love and support my father, from now on I will do so outside the political arena," - Ivanka said at the time.

Ivanka's decision came as Trump faced a number of federal criminal charges involving the unauthorized storage of more than 100 classified documents at his private Mar - a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

Ivanka, along with his brothers Eric and Donald Jr., were also named in the New York Attorney General's civil lawsuit and faced legal risks when involved in the family's business.

Last month, Trump also said his 18 - year - old son, Barron Trump, had played a key role in his campaign strategy.

At an Arizona campaign event, Trump told former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson that he would give Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. "influential" positions in his government if he won the election.
