On October 1 local time, the Russian Ministry of National Defense released a video of the Vostok Group's MLRS Grad self-propelled multiple rocket launcher firing rockets at a Ukrainian Armed Forces base south of Donetsk.
The Grad MLRS is a 122 mm multiple rocket launcher system. Each launcher is equipped with 40 launch tubes, mounted on a Ural-375D truck chassis.
Russian servicemen can launch a single missile or a salvo of missiles depending on the target.
The Grad MLRS can launch guided or unguided missiles to destroy enemy tanks and vehicles, and cause serious damage to runways, airports, ports and many other facilities.
Sputnik reported that on October 1, the Russian Ministry of National Defense said that units of the Centre Group had taken control of the Krutoy Yar settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic.
Meanwhile, Russian servicemen from the Western Group also took control of the village of Vishnevoye in Kharkov province.
“The enemy losses amounted to 410 servicemen, five vehicles, one 155 mm M777 rocket launcher made in the US, one 155 mm FH-70 rocket launcher made in the UK, two 122 mm D-30 rocket launchers, two 105 mm M119 rocket launchers made in the US and the Enclave-N electronic warfare station. Two ammunition depots were destroyed,” the Russian Ministry of National Defense added.
Units of the Northern Group in the Liptsov and Volchansky directions defeated the formations of the 57th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 36th Marine Brigade and the 113th Ground Defense Brigade in the areas of Liptsy, Volchansk and Volchanskie Khutora settlements in the Kharkov region, the report of the Russian Ministry of National Defense writes.
In the area of responsibility of the Southern Group, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 900 servicemen, 5 vehicles, 155 mm guns: M777 and M198 made in the USA, one 152 mm Akatsiya self-propelled gun, one 152 mm D-20 gun, 122 mm D-30 gun and 105 mm L-119 gun made in the UK. An ammunition depot was destroyed.
In the Eastern Group's area of responsibility, Ukraine lost 125 servicemen, one tank, one infantry fighting vehicle, six vehicles, one Polish-made 155 mm Krab self-propelled gun and one 122 mm D-30 howitzer. Two ammunition depots were destroyed, the Russian Ministry of National Defense reported.
