At least 30 people were injured when a car crashed into a crowd outside a club on Santa Monica Avenue in Los Angeles in the early morning of July 19 (US time), according to information from the city's Fire Department and local media.
Of the victims, 7 are in critical condition and 6 others were seriously injured. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the incident in a statement posted online.
The collision occurred just before 2am, when the car seemed to have lost control, hitting a taco food truck in front of the event venue. The car then continued to swerve past the parking area with a parking attendant and crashed straight into a large group of people gathering.
Adam Van Gerpen, a spokesman for the Fire Department, said a medical worker found one of the victims with wounds from shots. However, he did not confirm whether the person who was hit was the driver.
Video clips shared on social network X show the chaotic scene, blocked streets and many ambulances taking the victims out of the area.
The authorities have not yet announced the cause of the incident as well as the identity of the driver.
