According to Thai media, Thai police are stepping up inspections of more than 1,000 foreigners fleeing fraud areas and illegal gambling in Myawaddy town (M Myanmar) after the Myanmar military's raid into one of the largest fraud complexes in the border area - KK Park on October 24.
Deputy Commander of the Thai National Police Thatchai Pitaneelaboot chaired a meeting last weekend to assess the situation in Tak province (Thailand) and provide guidance to agencies handling cross-border flows.
Thatchai then went to Mae Sot Border Control Station No. 2 to check the screening process for immigrants.
According to Thatchai, 1,233 people, including Thai citizens and foreigners, crossed the Moei River to Mae Sot district, Tak province after the Myanmar military attack on KK Park.
Of these, 124 people have completed the screening process according to the national mechanism of Thailand (NRM), in which 2 people were identified as victims of human trafficking and are being protected and rehabilitated by the state while waiting for repatriation or legal handling.
Of the total number of refugees, 25 are Thai citizens, the rest come from 28 countries, with the largest group being Indian. The Indian Embassy has sent officials to provide food assistance.

Also last weekend, Thai media recorded three loud explosions from KK Park, located opposite Mae Ku village in Mae Sot. Smoke and fire rose from a building in an area controlled by the Korean National Army (KNA).
Locals said they saw blue-light unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying over the complex before the explosion, followed by lightning and smoke that could be seen clearly from Thailand. The explosions are similar to those that occurred on October 22, but the origin of the attack has not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, another source from Thailand said that the explosions at the KK Park fraud center were carried out by the Myanmar military.
The commander of Thailand's Rajamanu Special Forces, Colonel Kunt Sangson, said that they were informed in advance of the destruction plan as well as the explosive areas from Myanmar.
Thai authorities have also issued a loudspeaker warning people living near the border to avoid panic.
According to authorities, there is no impact on Thai territory. The Thai military is increasing border patrols and supporting refugees to cross the border in a humane manner.
