Russian Su-25 launches missiles to stop Ukrainian troops in Kursk

The Russian Su-25 fighter squadron blocked the rotation of Ukrainian troops in the border area of Kursk province.

The Russian Defense Ministry released a video showing the Su-25 crew's attack on enemy targets using missiles.

After using air weapons, the crew conducted a drill, dropped profound flares and returned to the departure airport.

On October 8, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian military units had destroyed more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers, 3 armored fighting vehicles, 4 artillery pieces and 2 mortars in the border area of Kursk province in 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, units of the Northern Group of Forces have repelled two Ukrainian counterattacks in the direction of the settlements of Lyubimovka, Plekhovo and Russkoye Porechnoye, while blocking attacks in the direction of Olgovka.

Ukrainian losses amounted to 40 people killed and injured, two armored fighting vehicles and a car were destroyed - the Russian Defense Ministry noted.

The ministry also said that strikes by Russian air forces and artillery defeated the concentration of manpower and equipment in 16 settlements in Kursk province.

In total, in the fighting in Kursk since the beginning of the campaign (August 6, 2024), Ukraine has lost more than 21,250 soldiers, 136 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, 891 armored fighting vehicles, 589 vehicles, 177 artillery pieces, 33 multiple launch rocket systems, including 8 HIMARS and 6 MLRS manufactured in the US, 9 launchers of the air defense missile system, 5 transport vehicles, 45 electronic warfare stations, 9 anti-personnating radars, 3 air defense radars, 22 technical units and other equipment, including 13 technical destroyers, a sedimentary device to destroy UB-77 mines, as well as three armored repair and recovery vehicles.

The Russian Defense Ministry said: "The operation to destroy units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues."
