The Russian Ministry of National Defense released a video showing the Su-25 crew's attack on enemy targets using missiles.
After using the aircraft weapons, the crew performed a maneuver, dropped decoy flares and returned to the departure airport.
On October 8, the Russian Ministry of National Defense said that Russian military units had destroyed more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers, 3 armored fighting vehicles, 4 artillery pieces and 2 mortars in the border area of Kursk province within 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, units of the Northern Army Group repelled two Ukrainian counterattacks in the direction of the settlements of Lyubimovka, Plekhovo and Russkoye Porechnoye, and prevented attempts to attack in the direction of Olgovka.
Ukrainian losses amounted to 40 people killed and wounded, two armored fighting vehicles and a car destroyed - the Russian Ministry of National Defense noted.
The ministry also said that Russian air and artillery strikes had defeated concentrations of manpower and equipment in 16 settlements in the Kursk region.
In total, during the fighting in Kursk since the beginning of the operation (August 6, 2024), Ukraine lost more than 21,250 servicemen, 136 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, 891 armored fighting vehicles, 589 vehicles, 177 artillery pieces, 33 multiple launch rocket systems, including 8 HIMARS and 6 MLRS manufactured in the United States, 9 launchers of air defense missile systems, 5 transport vehicles, 45 electronic warfare stations, 9 counter-battery radars, 3 air defense radars, 22 engineering units and other types of equipment, including 13 engineering clearance vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearance device, as well as three armored repair and restoration vehicles.
“The operation to destroy units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues,” the Russian Ministry of National Defense said.
