China's Mars rover Tianjin 1 (Tianwen 1) sent a New Year greeting from Mars' orbit with a selfies filmed with a camera mounted on the rover.
The new video of the Chinese spacecraft was released by the National Space Administration (NSA) on January 31, the 29th of the Lunar New Year 2022.
Video of the Thien Van 1 ship shows the condition of the devices on the orbiter, including the 3000N engine, the launcher container and the altitude control engine, all in good condition.
The video also recorded an epic scene of the sun reflecting on the spaceship. The Chinese flag can also be observed when the Mars rotation ship adjusts itself at the time of flying over the ice cap of the red planet.
The Selfie video was filmed with a camera attached to a Selfie stick attached to the tractor. This Selfie stick was opened after the Chinese spaceship entered Mars' orbit. The Selfie stick of the Thien Van 1 ship weighs 800 grams and has a 1.6m long arm. Surfing cameras are designed primarily for the purpose of monitoring spacecraft operating about 3.5 million km from Earth.
As of January 31, 2022, Thien Van 1 has been active in Mars' orbit for 557 days.
The Zhu Zung spacecraft in China's Mars mission has been in operation for 255 days and has moved 1,524m on the red planet, far exceeding the original estimated life expectancy of 90 days.
China's Mars mission has sent 600 GB of raw scientific data to Earth and both ships are operating normally, according to China's National Space Administration.
