Thailand spends $90 million on King Bhumibol Adulyadej's funeral

Today, October 25, millions of Thais will last bid farewell to King Bhumibol Adulyadej at a funeral that cost $90 million.

From all over Thailand, a few days ago, people flocked to Bangkok in the hope of getting close to the "father of the country" for the last time.

King Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as King Rama IX, was the king of Thailand who ruled from June 9, 1946 until the end of the cold air on October 13, 2016.

King Bhumibol Adulyadej is considered one of the longest reigning kings in the world and the longest reigning king in Thai history, respected by all Thai people. Throughout his reign, Thailand has gone through 30 Prime Ministers, starting with Pridi Banomyong and ending with prayuth Chan-ocha.

The burial of King Bhumibol Adulyadej will start from today, October 25 to 29, with the real burial taking place on October 26.
