Information about the Thailand-Cambodia ceasefire agreement announced by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense.
This agreement was signed after 3 days of negotiations between the two Southeast Asian neighbors amid weeks of fierce border clashes.
The prolonged border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia broke out in December, breaking the previous ceasefire agreement and killing more than 40 people, according to official statistics. About 1 million people have also been evacuated in Thailand and Cambodia due to fighting.
The US, China and Malaysia mediated the ceasefire agreement to end 5 days of fighting between Thailand and Cambodia in July, but this ceasefire agreement was broken.
