Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol received new allegations on July 19 as the special prosecutor's investigation into martial law in December last year continues.
The new allegations include violating the rights of cabinet members during discussions on martial law, drafting a declaration of martial law that would be in effect to summon them, issuing an order to delete data from encrypted phones and other crimes.
Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol is being tried for rebellion crimes, with allegations likely to result in a death sentence or life in prison.
Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has also faced additional charges since a special prosecutor was appointed in June to take over cases related to the martial law declaration.
Yoon Suk Yeol has been detained at the Seoul Detention Center since early July. Earlier this week, the court rejected his request for release.
