China's Mars rover shares a sandy view from its current location in the Utopia Planitia region on Mars.
The Zhu Zung spacecraft is part of the Mars Thien Van 1 (Tianwen-1) mission of the National Space Administration (CNSA). China's Mars rover is exploring the vast Utopia Planitia Delta.
China's Mars mission Tianjin 1 also has 1 orbs and 1 landing gear. The mission was launched on July 23, 2020.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Mars exploration, CNSA released a panoramic photo of Mars on August 30. The panoramic photo has small rocks and some beautiful sand dunes that can be observed on the right side of the photo.
China's Zhu Zung has spent 100 days exploring Mars since it officially left the rover and rolled down to the surface of the red planet on May 22. The Mars rover and Zhu Zung landed south of Utopia Planitia on May 15.
As of August 30, the Mars rover Chuc Dung has moved 1,064m on the red planet's surface, while the rotating ship has been on the orbit for 403 days. Both spacecraft are in good condition and operating normally, according to CNSA.
The CGTN noted that spacecraft on Mars will undergo a temporary suspension period of about 50 days because from mid to late September, the Sun is between Earth and Mars in a straight line and the solar radiation will interfere with communication between the spacecraft and the ground station.
Cnet commented that August is the month for panoramic photos of Mars. First, NASA's Curiosity rover celebrated its 9th year on the red planet with a rocky panoramic view of Gale Census.
While the Curiosity spacecraft has marked a presence on Mars for many years, the Chinese Zhu Zung spacecraft is also proud to extend its mission time to 3 months as originally planned. The Zhu Zung exploration ship is carrying out an expansion mission on Utopia Planitia.
The panoramic photo of Mars was also added to the impressive photo album of the Zhu Zung spacecraft. In June, China's Mars rover provided one of the most beautiful portraits of Mars ever taken with the support of a remote camera.
The presence of the Zhu Zung Mars rover has increased the number of devices operating in different regions of the Red planet to three, along with NASA's Curiosity and Perseverance spacecraft.
