15 Vietnamese players participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian Chess Championship

15 Vietnamese players have arrived in the Philippines to compete in the 2025 Southeast Asian Chess Championship.

The 2025 Southeast Asian Chess Championship will take place from November 2 to November 10 in the Philippines. Players will compete in standard chess, fast chess and flat-fighting chess at the tournament.

The organizing committee said that in addition to the chess teams of countries in Southeast Asia, the tournament also has the participation of a number of teams outside the region. Therefore, the whole tournament has 23 registered teams.

The list of 15 players of the Vietnam Chess Team participating includes Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Hoang Thi Bao Tram, Nguyen Thi Thanh An, Nguyen Hong Anh, Nguyen Thanh Thuy Tien, Pham Tran Gia Thu (female) and Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Nguyen Duc Hoa, Tran Tuan Minh, Dang Hoang Son, Nguyen Quoc Hy, Nguyen Van Huy, Dinh Nho Kiet, Duong Vu Anh (male).

In the above squad, players Nguyen Duc Hoa, Tran Tuan Minh, Nguyen Van Huy, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, Hoang Thi Bao Tram and Nguyen Thi Thanh An are international grandmasters of Vietnamese chess.

The goal of the Vietnam Chess Team is to win the highest medal result. The Vietnamese chess team is interspersed between experienced players and young players, so it is predicted to make good results.

This year, the Organizing Committee will award cash to the players with high achievements at the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship. The champion of the men's standard flag will receive a prize of 2,000 USD while the champion of the women's standard flag will receive a prize of 1,500 USD.
