4 naturalized players return to Malaysia after FIFA's sanctions

MINH PHONG |

Four naturalized players playing abroad have returned to Malaysia, said to be coordinating with FAM to resolve the incident related to FIFA's penalty.

The case of 7 naturalized Malaysian players banned from playing by FIFA due to paper fraud is still the focus of much attention.

According to the country's media, four of the seven players flew directly to the country to find a way to handle the crisis. Specifically, Rodrigo Holgado, Gabriel Palmero, facundo Garces and Imanol Machuca arrived in Malaysia this morning (October 2).

The group of players returned to work closely with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and relevant parties to clarify the details surrounding the incident. This is a move that shows that they are proactive in facing the crisis, and at the same time hope to reverse the situation or at least reduce their suspension.

Holgado, Palmero, Garces and Machuca are all non-competitors in Malaysia. They are playing for clubs in Argentina, Colombia and Spain.

On the side of the Football Association of Malaysia, the agency confirmed that it is coordinating to review the entire case, while waiting for official legal documents and grounds from FIFA as well as the verdict of the Football Court.

FAM affirmed that if the appeal file does not bring positive results, they will continue to pursue the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
