In the quarter-finals of the 2025 World Men's Volleyball Championship, the Czech Republic had a comeback against Iran with a score of 3-1.
The Asian representative started excitedly, dominating thanks to effective serve situations and winning 25-22 in the first set.
However, in the following sets, the Czech Republic tightened their formation. The brilliance of Indra and effective blocking helped the European team win 3 consecutive sets with the scores of 27-25, 25-20 and 25-21, thereby winning a ticket to the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Bulgaria struggled to beat the US after 5 sets. The European representative lost the first two sets with scores of 21-25 and 19-25. After a period of poor performance, Bulgaria focused on playing football, defending firmly to win the remaining 3 sets with a score of 25-17, 25-22, 15-13 against the team from the land of the stars and stripes.
It seemed that the North American representative would continue to win the decisive set, but Bulgaria seemed to wake up. The Nikolov brothers returned to action after the first two sets, which were somewhat underwhelming, to help the match enter the deciding set 5.
In the final set, the Bulgarian guys showed more courage, thereby completing an unbelievable comeback to become the last team to have a ticket to the semi-finals.
In another match, Poland showed their superior class when defeating Turkey with a score of 3-0. Without the main striker Mandiraci due to a recurrence of injuries, Turkey could not show much and lost quickly after 3 sets with a gap of 15-25, 22-25 and 19-25.
Meanwhile, Poland controlled the match thanks to solid defense and stability of the attack, especially the impressive performance from Leon.
In addition, defending champion Italy also entered the semi-finals after a convincing 3-0 victory over Belgium. Although they lost to their opponents in the group stage, Italy showed a completely different face in the rematch, quickly winning all 3 sets with a score of 25-13, 25-18, 25-18.
