The competition program of the 2026 Southeast Asian Shooting Championship is still being held in Taiwan (China). On the competition day of June 9, the Vietnamese shooter won a gold medal in the mixed men's and women's 10m air rifle event.
Overcoming the qualifying round, the shooter pair Le Thi Mong Tuyen, Nguyen Thanh Nam excellently showed high performance in the final of the event. The 2 Vietnamese shooters achieved 497.8 points in the final and won a gold medal.
The above result is the 6th gold medal of the Vietnamese shooting team at the tournament.
Previously, the Vietnamese shooter won gold medals in the women's team 25m sports pistol event (Thuy Trang/Thu Vinh/Thuy Dung), men's team 10m air rifle (An Tin/Tam Quang/Minh Quang), women's team 10m air rifle (Mong Tuyen/Thanh Thao/Nguyen Thi Thao), women's individual 10m air rifle (Phi Thanh Thao), women's team 10m air rifle (Duong Ha My).
The 2026 Southeast Asian Shooting Championships will continue to compete until June 12.
Before going to Taiwan (China) to compete at the present time, the Vietnamese shooting team had 15 key shooters participating in the 2026 World Cup in Germany but did not win a medal.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese shooting team said that in the remaining days of the 2026 Southeast Asian Championship, some shooters will continue to compete and there is a forecast that they are capable of competing for medals.
