At the 2024 Victory Cup Awards Gala, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the title "Team of the Year". As for Bich Tuyen, she was in the top 3 nominees for the title "Female Athlete of the Year". The winner in this category was shooter Trinh Thu Vinh (shooting).
Talking to Lao Dong, Bich Tuyen said: "In 2023, I did not join the team so I did not have the opportunity to receive the Victory Cup that year with the team. In 2024, I was able to wear the team shirt and felt very happy and honored to receive the 2024 Victory Cup with the Vietnam women's volleyball team.
I was quite nervous and happy, so my preparation for the speech was not good. I hope that next year I will still have the honor of receiving this Victory Cup. If I am chosen to speak, I will probably try to overcome my psychological problems in front of a crowd."
LPB Ninh Binh's opponent shared that being in the top 3 nominees for the title "Female Athlete of the Year" is an honor.
"There are many deserving athletes who have brought home valuable medals for Vietnamese sports. This is also the motivation for me to try to complete the assigned tasks as well as strive to be listed in the Victory Cup next year," Bich Tuyen expressed.
In 2025, the Vietnam women's volleyball team was assigned by the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) to win a gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games (taking place in December in Thailand).
This is a difficult task for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team because in addition to the formidable opponent Thailand, Vietnam also has to overcome other teams that have also made significant impressions recently, such as Indonesia and the Philippines.
Certainly, Bich Tuyen is still a face that receives many expectations in the lineup of the national women's volleyball team in 2025. This player herself also affirmed that she wishes to continue to be given the opportunity to contribute to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
"Regarding the task of winning the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games, I think this is the trust that the leaders of the Department of Physical Training and Sports and VFV have for the team. This is also the motivation for the coaching staff and players to strive to complete the assigned tasks.
This is the first time the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has been assigned the championship target at the SEA Games. If we continue to be in the team, my teammates and I will try our best to reach the gold medal," Bich Tuyen affirmed.
