On the morning of December 9 in Bangkok (Thailand), Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung had a meeting and encouraged the Vietnamese sports delegation to attend the 33rd SEA Games.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Pham Viet Hung - Ambassador of Vietnam to Thailand; Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vietnam, Head of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.

At the meeting, Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh quickly reported on the competition situation and the preparation of the teams in the early days. He said that some sports such as men's and women's football; bong da; badminton; and boxing have started early and are trying to overcome initial difficulties.
Notably, the food and living problems of the two football teams are still not really favorable. The women's team alone has to travel nearly 90 minutes per training session because the training ground is quite far from the training ground. The delegation's officers and experts also took turns reflecting the difficulties that the teams are facing so that the Minister can grasp the actual situation.

Listening to these shares, Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed his understanding and affirmed that he would work with host Thailand to improve the living and training conditions for athletes to the maximum extent.
At the same time, the Minister also encouraged members of the Vietnamese sports delegation to uphold the spirit of solidarity, accept objective difficulties and continue to maintain a professional attitude throughout the congress.
On the occasion of the meeting, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to give a bonus of 100 million VND to the Vietnam Sports Delegation as a source of motivation before entering the medal competition stage.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung advised: We, the representatives of the country participating in the SEA Games, should try our best and be determined to compete with all our might. We not only bring glory to the Fatherland, but also promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world".
According to the plan, on the evening of December 9, Minister Nguyen Van Hung will represent Vietnam in attending the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games at Rajamangala Stadium, officially opening the competition journey of the country's sports delegation.
