Vietnam is the host of the AVC Challenge Cup
According to information from the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV), the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) has approved Vietnam as the host of the AVC Challenge Cup 2025. AVC has sent an official document to VFV.
Thus, this is the first time Vietnam has hosted the continental tournament.
According to the preparation work, Dong Anh Stadium (Hanoi) will be the venue for the AVC Challenge Cup 2025. This is the place that has organized the first phase of the 2025 national championship well, attracting a large number of fans.
Before the tournament takes place, AVC representatives will come to Vietnam to inspect the stadium facilities for the tournament.
Thanh Thuy shows off the championship trophy
On her personal page, middle blocker Le Thanh Thuy of LPB Ninh Binh women's volleyball club posted a photo celebrating the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup championship. This is the first trophy in this tournament that Thanh Thuy and the Co Do team have won.
She also shared the moment holding the championship trophy with her close teammates Dinh Thi Thuy (LPB Ninh Binh), Dinh Van Duy and Duy Tuyen (Bien Phong men's team). LPB Ninh Binh and Border Guard are the two champions of the Hung Vuong Cup 2025 tournament that just ended on the night of April 8.
Dinh Van Duy receives criticism
Border Guard Club successfully defended its championship title in the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup after a 3-2 victory over Ho Chi Minh City Police in the final match. However, Border Guard setter Dinh Van Duy received a lot of criticism.
Accordingly, on social networks, many fans were dissatisfied with Dinh Van Duy's reactions to the match from the way he celebrated to the referee's reaction.
Notably, in a complaint situation in set 4, the referee determined the ball was out and scored for Border Guard. But after reviewing and choosing the right position to receive the ball, the referee "whistled" and recognized the points for Ho Chi Minh City Police. This caused Dinh Van Duy to have very strong reactions.
However, many people also expressed sympathy for the male player when playing in such a tense match, his mentality was easily affected.
