According to the competition schedule, phase 2 of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship - women's event will start from November 7 to November 17 in Lao Cai.
Specifically, the group stage matches will take place from November 7 to November 12 to determine the rankings. After that, the 4 teams with the best results will compete in the semi-finals and finals. The finals and classification rounds will take place from November 14 to November 17.
Thus, the clubs have only 1 month left to complete the final preparations before entering the competition.
Closing phase 1, the 3 teams temporarily leading are Information Corps (12 points), VTV Binh Dien Long An (11 points) and LPB Ninh Binh (10 points).
The remaining 6 positions are Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement (9 points), Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals (6 points), Vietinbank (5 points), Quang Ninh (4 points), Geleximco Thai Binh (4 points) and Hanoi (0 points).
In fact, the break between the two stages lasts up to 7 months (from April to November). Therefore, in addition to professional training, the teams try to compete as much as possible (friendly matches, side tournaments) to maintain the players' physical condition, form and regular playing rhythm.
Over the past period, the clubs have actively participated in tournaments. For example, last May, the Information Corps, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Duc Giang Chemicals and LPB Ninh Binh competed in the VTV9 Binh Dien Cup 2024 volleyball tournament.
By July, 8/9 teams at the national championship were Duc Giang Chemical Information Corps, VTV Binh Dien Long An, LPBank Ninh Binh, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement, Quang Ninh, Vietinbank, Geleximco Thai Binh participating in the 2024 Open Army Cup Volleyball Tournament.
Most recently, at the Loa Thanh Cup friendly tournament in Dong Anh district, there was the participation of the Information Corps, Duc Giang Chemicals, Vietinbank and Hanoi.
In addition, in the international arena, LPB Ninh Binh and Duc Giang Chemicals have just participated in the 2024 Asian Club Championship, playing a maximum of 7 matches.
Thus, Duc Giang Chemicals, Information Corps or LPB Ninh Binh are the teams that will play the most matches (no less than 15 matches), thereby ensuring their performance and overcoming necessary weaknesses before entering the most important stage of the national championship.
Meanwhile, with VTV Binh Dien Long An, although the number of friendly matches is quite small, they have a quality training trip in Japan. Besides honing their skills and expertise, young athletes also have the opportunity to learn and compete with talented players in the land of the rising sun.
Some teams with few opportunities to play friendly matches are Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement, Hanoi, and Quang Ninh. This may affect their preparation for the national championship. Notably, Quang Ninh and Hanoi did not have good results in the first phase.
