In June 2023, the Forum was held with 3 discussion sessions, including: "Sports business and the central role of tournaments"; "Professional sports tournaments and related issues"; "Mass sports tournaments, school sports and related issues".
This year, the topics of the sessions are “Creating a legal environment for sports economic development”; “Economic impacts of organizing major sporting events on localities and host units”; “Exploiting commercial value and benefits surrounding a sports tournament”.
At first glance, the themes of the discussions seem to be a continuous process. However, the question is, how have the contributions and knowledge associated with the “comprehensive” expression of the First Forum been applied in practice over the past year? Perhaps, but it is difficult to feel a change on a large scale.
In other words, after the first Forum, what were the issues drawn, what were the directions and implementation instructions from the authorities?
The second Vietnam Sports Economic Forum came at the right time, when the story of top football stars willing to "go back" from V.League to the First Division to take care of the economy of their families and themselves.
The macro level of the Sports Economic Forum is to "turn sports into an industry that contributes to the country's economy", but without taking care of the micro level story of the lives of sports people, it is difficult to "contribute to the country's economy".
It will take more application of knowledge from forums, and at the same time understanding the nature of sports to exploit the "happy point" of fans - entertainment. As long as the speeches are only read in the hall and kept as documents, forums will be viewed from a different perspective.
