U22 Indonesia is facing a difficult situation in Group C of the 33rd SEA Games men's football tournament after a 0-1 defeat to U22 Philippines in the opening match. To keep their hopes of advancing, the team from the archipelago must win against U22 Myanmar in the final match, while waiting for the result of the match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Malaysia.
Faced with this pressure, coach Indra Sjafri called on his players to focus on the immediate task: "We must focus on winning against U22 Myanmar. This victory is very important and that is all U22 Indonesia can do at the moment. We cannot control the result of the match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Malaysia".
Looking back at the loss to the U22 Philippines, the Indonesian coach pointed out two main reasons: "Indonesian players are having trouble because they have only played their first match at the SEA Games. U22 Philippines is used to the intensity of the competition (ha played 1 match against Myanmar) and also played very well".
Coach Indra Sjafri affirmed that he will urge the team to play strongly against U22 Myanmar and limit focusing on comments from outside: "The people outside the game certainly have the right to comment on U22 Indonesia. But the important thing is that I am still here and have the responsibility to help U22 Indonesia win against U22 Myanmar".
After the loss to U22 Philippines, many Indonesian fans expect the result from U22 Vietnam, believing that their team can play a decisive role in the chances of U22 Indonesia advancing.
The final match of Group C will be the last chance for U22 Indonesia to improve their position, but all chances of advancing will depend on them and the results of the remaining matches.
