Billy Vigar - a former striker who grew up at Arsenal's Hale End academy, passed away at the age of 21 due to a traumatic brain injury during a match.

In the match between Chichester City and wingate & Finchley in the Isthmian League Premier Division last weekend, Vigar hit a concrete wall while trying to control the ball.

The collision caused him to fall into a coma and require emergency surgery. Despite medical intervention, the serious injury prevented him from surviving.

Vigar's family said that after surgery, he showed signs of recovery but suffered serious brain damage, causing unsuccessful treatment efforts.

Billy Vigar joined Arsenal's training center at the age of 14, wearing the U21 team jersey before leaving the club in 2024. He then played for Hastings United and then moved to Chichester City in early 2025. Vigar is considered an agile, strong player and has a high determination.

Arsenal club issued a statement expressing deep regret, affirming that Billy Vigar is always remembered not only for his talent but also for his love of football and pride in representing the team.

Vigar's passing left many losses for his family, friends and the English football community.
