The passing of Ms. Huynh Ngoc Lien is a great loss for Vietnamese badminton in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular. Ms. Huynh Ngoc Lien stands out with her significant contributions, helping Vietnamese badminton reach international level.
One of her most memorable achievements is her support and guidance of tennis player Nguyen Tien Minh on the path to success. Thanks to her excellent management skills, extensive relationships, and dedication, she has connected sponsors and leaders to support Tien Minh, helping him have better training and competition conditions. This investment has helped Nguyen Tien Minh, once in the world's top 10, maintain his peak sports career.
Ms. Huynh Ngoc Lien also did not hesitate to spend her own money to help Tien Minh and other Vietnamese athletes participate in international tournaments, creating opportunities to learn and compete with top players. Although she had withdrawn from the role of Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Badminton Federation, she still returned to support the federation when it encountered difficulties.
In her later years, her health was weakened by illness, but she still participated in many major events of the Ho Chi Minh City Badminton Federation. Although she no longer held any official position, she always received deep gratitude from the badminton community for her great contributions.
