Immediately after the first round of the women's event of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship ends, the Vietnam U20 Women's Volleyball Team will focus on preparing for the 2024 AFC U20 Women's Championship.
According to the latest list, the team's concentrated members include 4 members of the coaching staff including head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet (Vietinbank), assistant coach Nguyen Trong Linh (Information Corps), Nguyen Dinh Tien (Thai Binh), Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa (Long An) and 18 players.
Notably, assistant coach Ngoc Hoa is the face that received a lot of attention. She is considered a monument of VTV Binh Dien Long An women's volleyball club. The former striker born in 1987 won the national championship, Hoa Lu Cup, Hung Vuong Cup with the Western team.
At the national team level, Ngoc Hoa is one of the best players of the Vietnam women's volleyball team. Speaking of Ngoc Hoa, I am talking about records. She is the only volleyball player to have played for the national team for 15 consecutive years, competing in over 200 matches.
Ngoc Hoa participated in 8 consecutive SEA Games and together with the team won 7 silver medals (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015) and 1 bronze medal (2017).
In history, Ngoc Hoa is also the most successful volleyball player to go abroad. She played for the Ayutthaya A.T.C.C and Bangkok Glass teams of Thailand.
The former athlete of the Vietnam women's volleyball team helped Bangkok Glass win the national championship and the Asian Club Cup in the 2015 season. At the 2015 Asian Club Cup, Ngoc Hoa won the title of "Best Middle Blocker".
After many years of dedication to VTV Binh Dien Long An as well as the national team, Ngoc Hoa said goodbye to her athlete career in 2019, when she was 32 years old to spend time building a home.
But in 2022, she returned at the age of 35, helping VTV Binh Dien Long An win the Hoa Lu championship and 3rd place in the national championship. After that, she continued to back up to the back of the ring.
With the presence of Ngoc Hoa, the Vietnam U20 women's volleyball team has every hope to create an interesting surprise in the upcoming important tournament.
According to the plan of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, the U20 team will gather from March 25 to July 20, at the volleyball training area of Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports.
The young girls will have their first competition to try their hand at, which is the VTV9 - Binh Dien 2024 International Women's Volleyball Cup in Dak Lak from May 11 to May 19, before entering the 2024 U20 Asian Women's Championship held from July 1 to July 8, in Jiangmen (China).
