"It was a great joy. This was a necessary victory, but it was not easy for us because the pressure was quite large. I am happy that we have been able to confidently overcome the Vietnam women's volleyball team.
We wanted to put pressure from the start, and we succeeded. Now, we want to defeat Poland," said athlete Lina Alsmeier after the victory.
Germany, ranked 11th in the world, is rated much higher than the Vietnam women's volleyball team. However, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team caused many difficulties for the opponent, with their efforts to chase them all the way.
In set 1, the Vietnam women's volleyball team had a time to level the score at 12-12, before making some mistakes at the end of the set, leading to a loss. In sets 2 and 3, Thanh Thuy and her teammates rose up strongly, fought with all their might but could not make a difference against Germany.
Statistics from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) show that in this match, captain Camilla Weitzel scored the most points for the German team with 15 points, followed by Hanna or ornhmann (14 points) and Lina Alsmeier (13 points).
On the Vietnam women's volleyball team's side, striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy scored 17 points, the highest in the match. All of Thanh Thuy's scores came from powerful smashes.
In the final match of Group G, Germany will meet Poland. "We have nothing to fear from the Polish team. We have a great chance to win all the matches in the group stage. Two consecutive 3-0 victories gave us more energy," said Hanna ormann.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will meet the Kenyan team on August 27. In the friendly match before the world tournament, the Vietnamese team won their opponent 4-0.
