On the morning of December 7, the Vietnamese sports delegation left for Thailand to attend the 33rd SEA Games after the solemn performance taking place at 7:00 a.m. The ceremony was attended by Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet and representatives of sponsors and authorities.
On December 7, groups of athletes and coaches traveled from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, bringing the total number of members present in Thailand to 16 teams, with 113 people starting on the day. Leading the delegation was Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh. The morning launch of December 7 alone had 81 members including cadres, coaching staff and athletes, all with the expectation of achieving good results in the regional arena.
This year's 33rd SEA Games recorded the participation of a Vietnamese sports delegation with a force of 1,165 members, including 842 athletes, 189 coaches and 19 experts. The delegation registered to compete in 47/66 sports with 443 events, showing comprehensive preparation in many strong sports groups.
According to the plan, the flag-raising ceremony of the Vietnamese sports delegation will take place at 1:00 p.m. on December 8 at Huamark Stadium (Bangkok). The flag-raising ceremony starts at 2:30 p.m., in order of the national nameplates. The ceremony is expected to end at 4:30 p.m.
Sharing before entering the 33rd SEA Games journey, Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh said: "The delegation will carry will in their heads, fire in their hearts, strength from within, overcome their limits, demonstrate the Vietnamese spirit when competing, as instructed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the launching ceremony, to compete to achieve the highest achievements, bringing glory to the Fatherland".
