On the morning of December 7, under the guidance of Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports, 81 members including delegation officials, coaches and athletes of the cycling, canoeing, swimming, water motorbikes, cloud bridge, gymnastics equipment... officially set off for Thailand to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
The delegation set off at Noi Bai International Airport with Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, along with leaders of the sports industry, representatives of Vietnam Airlines...

Before leaving, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation said: "The Vietnamese sports delegation attending this Congress has prepared very well. The delegation will carry the will in their heads, the flame in their hearts, make efforts internally, overcome their own limits, compete with the spirit of Vietnam - as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh advised at the launching ceremony - to compete to achieve the highest achievements, bringing glory to the Fatherland".
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh also emphasized: "The delegation will come to the SEA Games with the honesty and nobility of the sporting spirit. We hope that all coaches and athletes will maintain the confidence and will of the Vietnamese people to compete and achieve the best results against their opponents".

According to the schedule, the Vietnamese sports delegation will depart on the flight at 9:15 and arrive in Bangkok (Thailand) at noon the same day, then settle down.
The Organizing Committee of the host country Thailand plans to hold the Flag-raising ceremony for the Vietnam Sports Delegation on the afternoon of December 8 in Bangkok.
The delegation will prepare for the first important event, the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games, taking place on December 9 with about 200 members attending. In which, two athletes Le Thanh Thuy (volleyball) and Le Minh Thuan (karate) were honored to hold the flag to lead the group.
The Vietnamese sports delegation attended the 33rd SEA Games with 1,165 members, of which 842 athletes competed in 47 sports with 443 events.
The goal of Vietnamese sports is to strive to win 90-110 gold medals and maintain the lead in the total medal table. In particular, some teams aim for high goals such as athletics (12 gold medals), shooting (7 gold medals), rowing (8 gold medals), weightlifting (6 gold medals)...
