Ho Chi Minh City Youth Team officially relegated

Thanh Nien TPHCM Club officially relegated to the National First Division League 2025-2026 after losing to Bac Ninh with a score of 0-8 in round 20.

The youth team enters the season with the expectation of creating a long-term development foundation, and at the same time giving playing opportunities to many young players. However, limitations in experience and force depth make Thanh Nien TPHCM face many difficulties in the relegation race.

After 20 rounds, the representative of Ho Chi Minh City has only won 7 points and is at the bottom of the rankings. This achievement is not enough to help the team maintain the opportunity to compete with direct opponents in the bottom group.

Throughout the season, Thanh Nien TPHCM often faced disadvantages against more experienced opponents. Ineffective opportunity utilization and defensive errors caused the team to drop many important points.

However, last season still brought valuable experiences to the young players of Thanh Nien TPHCM. Many faces were given the opportunity to play regularly in the professional football environment, thereby accumulating more bravery and match experience.

Being relegated is definitely a regrettable result for the team, but it is also seen as an opportunity for Thanh Nien TPHCM to review the work of building forces and preparing for the next stage. With the orientation of developing youth football, the team is expected to soon stabilize its organization, improve professional quality and aim to return to the First Division in the future.

Meanwhile, the race in the top group is still exciting as teams continue to compete for promotion to the V.League next season.
