Vietnamese karate team sends main martial artist to compete in Asian Championship 2026

The Vietnamese karate team will register the best martial artists to compete for achievements at the 2026 Asian Championships to be held next week.

This year, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese karate team is expected to register 20 athletes to participate in the 2026 Asian Championship, which will compete in Indonesia from June 18.

The entire force of the Vietnam Karate Team is training at the National High-Level Athlete Training Center.

20 players are being prepared for the 2026 Asian Championship, including many good professional faces in kumite (combat) and kata (performance) events.

It is expected that some martial artists such as Khuat Hai Nam, Hoang Thi My Tam, Nguyen Ngoc Tram... will be given the opportunity to participate in this year's tournament.

In the last 3 times of the Asian Karate Championship held in 2023, 2024, 2025, Vietnamese karate athletes have won gold medals.

This year, the Vietnamese karate team aims to strive for the best results.

The 2026 Asian Karate Championship is expected to attract more than 400 athletes from 33 teams across the continent to participate. This is an important opportunity for the Vietnamese Karate Team and other teams to learn more about the force and professional preparation of opponents to prepare for ASIAD 20.

After SEA Games 33, from the beginning of 2026, the Vietnam Sports Administration has appointed coach Pham Hong Ha to take on the role of head coach of the Vietnam Karate Team.

In addition, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese karate team has expert Hassan Shaterzadeh (Iran) working professionally for the sparring athletes.
