On the afternoon of February 12, Trinh Thu Vinh participated in the women's 10m individual air pistol qualifying round at the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup. Each shooter was allowed to shoot 60 bullets in 6 rounds, then the total score was calculated to select the 8 people with the best results to enter the final round.
Thu Vinh competed with 44 other shooters and excellently finished first with 578 points, 1 point more than the runner-up Cheng Yen-ching (Taiwan, China). The Vietnamese player was the athlete who scored the most 10 points (20).

Two other Vietnamese female shooters, Nguyen Thuy Trang and Trieu Thi Hoa Hong, finished 22nd (564 points) and 36th (556 points) respectively, and could not make it to the finals. The three athletes' combined score was only 5th, so they did not win a team medal.

In the men's 10m individual air pistol event, Pham Quang Huy ranked 5th out of 50 athletes. He had 579 points with 17 points of 10. Quang Huy had the same score as 3 others, but was ranked 5th because of the difference in 10 points.
Other players are Lai Cong Minh ranked 10th with 574 points, Nguyen Dinh Thanh ranked 26th (569 points), Phan Cong Minh ranked 44th (554 points).
With a total of 1,722 points, Pham Quang Huy, Lai Cong Minh and Nguyen Dinh Thanh won the silver medal in the men's team. The gold medal went to the trio from North Korea (1,741 points) and the bronze medal went to Saudi Arabia (1,721 points).
Quang Huy and Thu Vinh will compete in the final tomorrow morning (February 13).
This morning (February 12), Thu Vinh and Quang Huy brought home the first gold medal for the Vietnamese shooting team at this tournament in the mixed 10m air pistol event for both men and women.
The 2025 Asian Shooting Cup has a total of 319 athletes representing 24 countries and territories. There are 72 gold medals, 72 silver medals and 80 bronze medals awarded in individual and team events. The Vietnamese shooting team participates in the tournament with 18 shooters.
The tournament takes place in Bangkok, Thailand from February 12 to 22.
