The tournament is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 101st anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026), and at the same time continues the tradition of tennis tournaments for journalists that have been maintained for nearly 20 years.
According to the organizers, the tournament not only creates a sports playground for reporters, editors, officials and employees at central and local press agencies, but also contributes to strengthening exchanges and connections between press agencies, Journalists Associations of provinces and cities, tennis federations and accompanying units.
This year's tournament attracted 92 players from 18 press agencies, Journalists Associations, Tennis Federations of provinces and cities, PA83 Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police and many businesses to participate.
Athletes will compete in 5 events including men's leadership doubles, mixed doubles, men's doubles over 45 years old, men's doubles under 45 years old and men's doubles press - business.
Many familiar tennis players from the press continued to participate such as Le Hai, Vuong Quyen, Do Van Luy, Le Phi Hung, Duong Thanh Ba, Tran Ngoc Linh, Nguyen Minh Vy or Pham Minh Quang. Besides, there was also the participation of tennis players from the Ho Chi Minh City Tennis Federation along with a large number of female athletes and business tennis players.
According to the competition schedule, the men's doubles events over 45 years old, under 45 years old and press - business will take place on June 13. The two events men's leadership doubles and mixed doubles will be held on June 14. The opening ceremony is expected to be held at 8:30 am on June 14, and the award ceremony will take place on the same day.
The total prize value of the tournament is 35 million VND in cash and many gifts for athletes with high achievements.
